FireFox Drop-Down Menus Broken After Leopard Upgrade

I upgraded to Mac OS X Leopard last week and have been struggling with various “issues” that have come up. The latest involves Firefox. I’ve already come across two web sites that use drop-down menus; however, the menus don’t drop. Who wants to browse through a menu by hitting the up arrow / down arrow and viewing one item at a time? Back to Safari for those sites.

The Firefox release notes said, “On OS X 10.5 (Leopard), drop-down selection widgets on some websites may not function.”

  1. thank god someone else is dealing with this…like Eric, i too, thought i was going a little crazy.

Hopefully someone is working on it. I’ll dig around – see if i can find something.

  2. This is a major headache for WordPress users, because safari doesn’t play nice with the WordPress admin section, but now Firefox doesn’t either.

  3. New Problem!

On leapard first time I opened firefox it said it wanted to connect to some strange location (cant remember what) and I accidental pressed “deny forever” instead of “until quit” or “allow forever ”
Now nothing works in fireworks, no matter what website or search in google I make the page stays blank. It is not even searching.?? I tried to quit and throw everything about firefox in the trash, and I mean everything I know of, like ….Library/applicationsupport/firefox , cache/firefox, profiles etc.. and basically anything to do with firefox. I downloaded it again, reinstalled and restarted my mac , but still nothing….. ? What did I do wrong? How can I get firefox back to work?
