Just discovered that "Scan to Print" saves two copies of each scan. When I select "Scan to Print," ScanSnap Manager drops a copy of the scanned document with the usual filename in the folder of the last-saved scan. When I select "Save as PDF," it creates a second copy if I choose to rename the file. After I noticed this, I stopped selecting the "Save as PDF." I just rename the first scanned document. But I still have to close out a number of windows afterwards by manually clicking on that red button since control-w doesn't work.

Actually, you know what. When the 'Scan to Folder' crashes, the file is still placed in the location of the last saved document. I have a folder called 'Inbox' where I send all my scans to be 'filed' later. That was the last place I saved something before I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard. At the top of that folder, I see all the scans with the default time-date filename that Scan to Folder defaults to. When I scan something and click 'Scan to Folder' it does crash, but the file is still saved in my 'Inbox' folder.

So, for me, it is easier to dismiss the crash dialog and just rename the folder in that spot. Especially since the 'Scan to Print' option does funny things to the format of smaller documents.
